The AXB Lower Back Pain Course
Lower Back Pain is the world’s leading cause of disability, affecting 58% of the adult population every year. Those are your clients, AND your prospective clients. You can help them, because…
The only proven preventative measures are exercise and education.
The AXB Lower Back Pain Course is a complete, evidence-based, no-nonsense guide to helping clients overcome persistent lower back pain ( with no fluff) with a total of 16 hours of CPD.
Successful completion of the end-of-course assessments provides eligibility for Partnership status with Active X Backs at no additional cost.
We believe there is no other CPD training in the UK today which addresses education and exercise for Lower Back Pain as comprehensively as we do. But don't just take our word for it - read what our lovely past student Caz had to say:"If anyone is thinking about doing this course, I would highly recommend it.
As a level 4 personal trainer, I am always eager to learn more to help my clients, and in this case myself. I have suffered with lower back pain since being diagnosed with Symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) whilst pregnant with my youngest (now 10yr old child). It’s not always an issue, and I used to shy away from the heavy deadlifts.
The information was super easy to digest, and I never felt overwhelmed with too much in-depth knowledge. The little quizzes were brilliant, and I must admit I was super chuffed to ace them. Everything I was learning was going in and staying in."

After completing the course successfully, you may apply to become a certified AXB partner*. As such, you will be eligible to run AXB partner exercise classes (online and in-person) for clients wishing to relieve and prevent lower back pain and sciatica.
*The only other requirements for partnership status is that you have appropriate and relevant professional indemnity insurance. In the end adequate insurance is the most important factor.
When signing up to use our digital platform and any services provided by our certified partners, the client also accepts a medical disclaimer. It states that we do not provide diagnoses or advice for their back pain or sciatica. “All information provided by AXB and their partners is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as medical advice.”
The AXB App nudges the client to answer safety questions on a weekly basis. Every day it offers them relievers and preventers tailored to their Functional Assessment. These vary depending on the progress they are making.
The client completes the AX Backscore, which is based on the Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire – a validated tool for assessing disability related to lower back pain – see Lesson 5 for more details. And we monitor their progress.
